Children Needing Sponsors
About the Program
By joining us as a child sponsor you help ensure we can continue to provide excellent physical, emotional and spiritual care for the children in our care. This commitment goes further than a monthly financial gift, as we also ask sponsors to pray and advocate for the child you sponsor. Sometimes a sponsor’s advocacy of the child for adoption may in fact find an adoptive family for that child. Because of this, we see advocacy as a crucial way sponsors support their sponsored child. This program establishes that each child in our care has a community of individuals praying, advocating and supporting them every day!
As part of the sponsorship program, you will receive an update on your child along with a new photo every other month. In order to bring costs down, we send all updates out digitally to the e-mail provided. What makes this program stand out is that the updates sponsors receive are written by the Foster parents who know the child best. Because of this, the updates are full with real and authentic information on how the child is doing.

Yes! You can make clear which child you’d like to sponsor by filling out step #2 on the sign up page. If you have no specific child you’d like to begin sponsoring, the sponsorship coordinator will pair you with one of the children.
Yes! Every other month you will receive a photo of your sponsored child and an update on their emotional/physical accomplishments. These updates are written by those who know and interact daily with your sponsored child, the house parents or house managers.
Every child needs about 12 sponsors to cover the entire cost of care.
It is common for people to compare child sponsorship at COTP to other international organizations that do child sponsorship. One significant distinction between our care and those of some of these other organizations is that the sponsored children at COTP are receiving short-term residential care at COTP. For some kids, they are orphaned/abandoned and are here until they have been adopted. For others, they are ill, rehabilitative care, and are then reunited with their families. Many of these children in our care are being treated for illness and/or have disabilities that require medical care.
To provide this excellent residential care comes at a significant cost; but the cost is more than worth it when compared to the lives saved through this care! With your help and others, the child you sponsor will have a small community supporting him or her!
Absolutely! If you would like to sponsor more than one child, please increase your donation $35USD for every additional child you would like to sponsor.
Because COTP is a short-term child care center, chances are that your child will eventually either be adopted out or reunited with their biological family. In these cases, you will be given a final update and paired with another child. If at that point you’d like to specifically choose another child please communicate your request to Mary Young, Child Sponsorship Coordinator at email@example.com.
