Mission Statement:

Provide for the physical, emotional, and spiritual needs of infants who've been orphaned or abandoned.

Reunite the infants with their birth families whenever possible.

Facilitate families in the adoption of children with little or no hope of being reconnected with their birth families.

Updates (January 5, 2009):

The month of December was a great month for three  of our kids who were finally united with their adoptive families. We are just thrilled when the kids get to go home and are very happy for Thania, Katia, and Emmanuel!

Emmanuel - Michigan
Thania - Tennessee
Katia - Oregon

Updates (December 30, 2008):

Rosemika's mother has passed away. Please pray for Rosemika and the rest of her family.

Updates (December 15, 2008):

We are very saddened to say that our little Renalson has unexpectedly passed away. We are just so shocked as this is the third unexpected death in a seemingly healthy baby. His mother also died very suddenly and we will never know why his mother died. We wonder if there could be a connection.

Updates (December 9, 2008):

Samuel has been in our care for nearly 3 years. His family has finally come around to taking him home. Please pray for Samuel and his family as this is a difficult transition for him since all he has ever known is COTP. Please also pray that his family is able to keep giving him the meds he needs. We will miss Samuel.
Baby Florcie is not doing well and is in the hospital. She has a bug and we pray it goes away quickly. Our littlest ones can crash so fast. Please pray they find out what's wrong quickly and she is able to return home with us.
Pierre is still in the hospital and still having fevers. They don't know what is causing his fevers and are still trying to figure it out. He seems to be doing a little better despite that, but we juts need the fevers to go away.
Mickenson was with COTP for 3 month earlier this year. He went home to be with his biological family in June. His mother was pregnant, but insisted that she keep him so we sent him home. Mickenson has lost some weight and is not doing well, but the mother insists on keeping him. She recently just had twins and is asking for some help with them, but again, insists she can now care for all 6 of her children. Their father realizes that they need help with Mickenson, but there is nothing we can do unless the mom agrees. Please pray for Mickenson and his new twin brothers who were just born on Saturday. Mickenson turned 1 years old last May and is still unable to walk.

Updates (December 6, 2008):

Two more babies

Little Renalson was brought to us by his father. His mother died on Oct 20th while the dad was in the DR working, when he heard his wife had died he came straight back home. The family is from really far away from here, he left his home at 4:30am and got to Cap at midday. His  dad has 6 children total, with the oldest one being 14 and has no family that can help him take care of Renalson. He hasn't been able to work since his wife died. Renalson, who was born on April 1st, and is a really healthy and a very beautiful little boy. His mother breast feed him until she died. We don't know how she died other than it was very sudden while sweeping. Since Renalson's dad has been carrying for him he's been eating labouil and having some formula that the dad brought back from the DR and also cows milk. Renalson weighs 14 pounds 4 ounces and is just so healthy. He's not crawling yet but he can sit up and does interact well. His dad just can't care for him and having this baby at home means his other kids have been suffering as he can't work. Please pray for Renalson and his family who have all lost their mother and wife.
Rosemike (pronounced Rose mee ka) is the daughter of one of our nannies. Her mother has been sick for a long time (since Rosemike was 1 month) and hasn't been able to come to work. Rosemike was born on 12th September 2007. Her mother will be going to the hospital again tomorrow and has been there a lot this past year.  Rosemike's aunt was caring for her but she has 3 kids of her own and no husband and has been struggling. Rosemike has been sick too. Another one of the nannies, is her mothers cousin and brought her to our place. Her family had been feeding her labouil, bread soup, rice and other Haitian meals. She also got some pedisaure in the past from the clinic where she gets her vaccinations. Rosemike weighs 13 pounds 3 ounces. Her family would like us to help care for her for a couple of months.

Updates (December 6, 2008):

Our sweet little Nallie passed away late last night. She had been in the hospital 15 out of the last 20 weeks and just never seemed to be getting better. Please pray for her family and caregivers who loved and cared for her very much. Her parents were able to bring her home from the hospital and love on her for her last few hours.

Updates (December 1, 2008):

What a week!

Dieula unexpectedly passed away one morning. We do not know the cause which is sometimes harder to understand. Please pray for her father and those who cared for her for such a short time.
Pierre is almost 1 years old. He was abandoned at the local hospital. He was severely malnourished and was having seizures when he was brought to the hospital. He seems to be sucking better than when he was first brought in. We do believe that he has cerebral palsy. Please pray for sweet Pierre and his caregivers so that we can give him the best care we are able.
Jesula just turned 1 years old. She came to us with her parents. She is their only child and they both love her dearly. Her parents have done a great job caring for Jesula, but she has severe cerebral palsy and they just cant care for her anymore. Please pray for Jesula and her parents at this time. She is having a hard time adjusting to being away from mom and dad.
Myllanta is 6 months old. She was referred to us by the local hospital. Her mother is sick and Myllanta is in a special program at the hospital to help her as well. She was in a feeding program until she was 4 months old, but that's all the longer they give formula. Her mother needs help and little Myllanta is very small for her age, although has already gained weight since being in our care. Please pray for Myllanta and her mother as she has some tough decisions a head of her.
Rivaldo was just born. He is the little brother to a little one we have in our formula program. Their mother asked for help for both children, but she has since brought her daughter to her mothers to be cared for and she is doing very well there. Little Rivaldo was just born on the side of the road. He seems to be doing well and we will care for him until his mother can make some decisions. So far he is a healthy newborn.
Irelene is 3 months old. She came to us with her grandfather. Although she is doing pretty well and is fairly healthy, her young mother ran off and her grandfather doesn't know where to. He is the only one caring for Irelene and just does not know how. He loves his daughter and granddaughter very much and was very humble when asking for help. Please pray for this man, his daughter, and little Irelene.

 Updates (October 2, 2008):

  • Dear Parents and Prayer Warriors,

We just got word last night that we can no longer process adoptions until we get our own license. A new director was appointed into IBESR about two weeks ago and I think the change comes from that. For all files that are in IBESR or later will proceed as normal. Any new files will need to wait until we have our license. We have been trying to get our license for the last couple years, but with so many changes and stalls its been a slow process. Antonio has been so swamped with kids paperwork he hasn't had time to focus on the paperwork for our license. The good news is that Antonio thinks he can have this all done in a few weeks. We pray this will be the case. It will be a huge blessing to have our own license and do things ourselves. Antonio will be focusing a lot of his time on our license. Please pray with us that this goes quickly and smoothly and it wont hold anything up for too long.
