Internship Program

Our work in Haiti represents a broad range of efforts by international volunteers and Haitians. Children of the Promise offers a unique opportunity for individuals to participate in missions, gain experience within specific career fields, and connect and work with Haitian individuals and other volunteers. We are always looking for individuals who would like to gain experience in their area of study in the field through internships. We are open to interns from any field of study. Our most common internship opportunities include:

-Nursing and Medical: We administer most medical care for our infants and children on site. We also do some coordinating with local hospitals and doctors.

-Social Work: We believe strongly in family and work with biological Haitian families and adoptive families to help transition of our children.

-Education: Our preschool program helps our children get back on track developmentally, and helps our children who are being adopted to transition into life outside of Haiti.

-Engineering: Missions is a breeding ground for creative thinking and solutions. It offers broad, hands-on experience in many areas (construction, mechanical, electrical, etc).

-Psychology: We attempt to help our children work through a variety of issues stemming from their circumstances (abandonment, attachment, etc)

-International Studies/Language studies: Haiti is not far from the US, but is worlds away in almost every aspect.
