Sending Supplies

We are often asked how one goes about sending supplies to Haiti.
In northern Haiti there is no ups, fed-ex, usps, or any other normal way to mail items. COTP has partnered up with Agape flights to process all of our incoming mail, first is shipped to their airplane hanger in Venice Florida.

When packages arrive in Venice they are weighted and sorted. Agape flys to Cap each Thursday. We meet them on the tarmac and help unload the plane and sort the mail between all of the missionaries. Once the mail is sorted it passes through customs.
There is no set price for customs, but it generally comes to about 40 cents per pound. Agape is very careful with taking good care of boxes and letters. It is extremely rare to not have a package make it to us.
Purchasing items online and having them shipped to Florida is a very cost effective way of getting items here, since most online retailers offer free shipping. Thank you to all of our regular supporters who keep us stocked with so much supplies. Thursdays are always exciting as we get to go through 100′s of pounds of packages each week! COTP incures a cost of nearly $2.00 per pound for all of the boxes that you send. We say this not to discourage you to donate items, but to consider whether or not what you are sending is cost effective. We gladly welcome financial donations to help cover the cost of boxes being sent. If you would like to help with this cost you can send a check to the following addresses (based on where your from). Make sure you include a note specifying that the check is for shipping!
