Holding onto Hope

Over the past couple of years, we have admitted many children with special needs. This hasn’t been uncommon for us as an organization, as we’ve worked with special needs children since our beginning.  However, finding forever families for children with special needs has been extremely difficult. We find ourselves wondering how long we will continue raising these children in our setting, which is intended to be temporary rather than permanent.  Each passing year, we admit more children with special needs than we see go home to adoptive families.  Each year, certain children in our care get one year older, and face the reality that adoption will become less and less likely.

But we have hope.

We have continually hold onto this hope that the children with special needs in our care will catch the heart of a forever family. We have advocated and prayed for this and we will continue to do so.  We believe that being adopted into a family will give each of these children the best chance to grow and thrive. In the mean time, though, we are taking positive steps to create a family-like setting for these children during their stay with us.  We invite you to join with us in advocating on behalf of each of our children with special needs.

Take the time to see their stories below and join us in this hope.
